Welcome to the NEW GM. We wanted job security and now we have it. If they need help, they will get it and also take care of people drawing sub. |

They are bringing in their two tier recalls by Feb 8th too. According to the agreement, they are supposed to exhaust the area hire first before extended area hires are called. Is that part new? I thought it was always that way...bringing in all laid off in the area hire, which I believe is nearly totally exhausted. |

A friend claims Grand Rapids is going to send skilled trade workers to Delta Township for production work next month. They're going to retain skilled wages.
Our modified agreement says this can only happen "after all area hire offers and offers to any volunteers in the extended area hire have been exhausted."
I guess this means all production workers that have in for Delta Township thru the extended area hire have been already given jobs there. Hmm...
Any production out there have in for these jobs?? |

I guess its possible there are enough openings at LDT to place all extended area hires and GR skilled. I know LDT fell short by several hundred with 96ers from Spring Hill.
That said, there's been some "funny" placements as of late. If there are openings at LDT..unfilled by area hires...extended area is AHEAD of skilled for these jobs. |

You all that have in for Delta might want to recheck to make sure you are still on the list...jsut to make sure! We have had some tagged this week at LGR that had cancelled years ago. There was some sort of mix up transfering info to the online format...https://www.uawgmjas.org/j/ _________________ KingHenry

I bet that mix up wasn't a coincidence either. |

My buddy who has 2000 senority was tagged earlier this week. I talked to him yesterday and he said he had to get the man power coronater invovled to resolve this issue. He said that the problem occured when they transferd all the info from the phone based system to the internet based system. He said that he put in for Delta in 2005 and then cancelled that transfer YEARS ago. Like I said, the problem occured when transfering all the info over to the new system. He is staying at LGR.
Please stay on top of your transfers if you have them...people are being tagged for Delta and screw ups are happening with the new system.
Hope this helps! _________________ KingHenry

Thanks KingHenry. When the new system came online, I seen 16 applications in my file!!! After combing through them, I figured out that these were ALL OLD! I deleted them all and then immediately put new ones in.
This transition to the online system has been a big terrible joke!!!! What did they do, outsource the transition to friggen INDIA??? |

I heard over 2000 are on the extended area hire list for LDT.
That completely rules out the rumored GR skilled being forced. |
