Using that exceprt as an example it is difficult to grasp the relative value of anything. Do they buy these outright in China (have they that much liquidity?) or do they take out a mortgage?

You can thank Nixon and Kissinger for the trade problem we have today. If they hadn't opened the door to China we wouldn't have gone down the road to "favored nation" status and all the rest. They would have been more like Cuba, but without the classic cars.
